🌸 Bloom Update
March 5 - March 11, 2024
We're 42 days into almond bloom since the first submission of green-tip to Bountiful Bloom. Almond bloom is coming to an end as nutlets form and leaf out continues. Bloom submissions are coming in for petal fall across all regions North, Central, and South.
Daily observations of bloom continue to be consistent in the Central region of the state followed by the South, then the North. You can see this below for the 2024 Almond Bloom showing the progression of bloom stages reported by day👇.

Bloom sentiment continues to follow weather patterns, specifically precipitation. On days with precipitation bloom sentiment submissions trend toward average to poor bloom, and on days with no precipitation sentiment submissions shift from good to excellent.

Bee Flight Hours continue to trend above last year. Bee Flight Hours in all regions are up +130% to +149% over last year. In the table below 👇 you'll see current Bee Flight Hours by week and Total Bee Flight Hours to Date for 2024 vs 2023.

Chill Portions are on par with last year for the North, while Central and South Chill Portions are down -7 to -8% over last year. Below 👇 you'll see the cumulative Chill Portions for 2024 vs 2023.
