January's position report marks the sixth month of the 2023/2024 marketing year. Crop receipts to date: 2,391,218,196 lbs down -3.39% over last year.

Janurary's new crop receipts bring the 2023 Total Marketable Supply to 3,143,686,169 lbs, down -3.64% over last year.

2023/2024 % Sold to date: 64.20% up + 4.47% over last month and down -0.54% over last year.

January's shipments: 235,919,605 lbs up +2.84% over last month and up +2.72% over last year.
2023/2024 total shipments to date: 1,380,673,065 lbs up +8.58% over last year.

Total new sales for January: 235,911,077 lbs up +7.52% over last month and down -32.62% over last year.
📈 Crop Receipt Projections
Following the December position report we run a forward projection on ABC form 1 crop receipts to get an idea of the total size of the crop.
The methodology we use for our crop receipt projections is different from our in-season machine learning forecasts. Our 2023 in-season forecasts are complete and have not been updated since we released a final forecast in July.
For our crop receipt projection, we only use ABC form 1 crop receipt data for current and historical years. The model we use looks for a pattern in how crop receipts are coming in month over month.
As of January ABC form 1 crop receipts, final crop receipts are projected to be 2.45-2.48 B lbs. You can reference this in the image below 2023/2024 marketing year is in light blue.
