### 📈 Almond Crop Receipts Down Over 2022 

February's position report marks the seventh month of the 2023/2024 marketing year. Crop receipts to date:  2,409,424,554 lbs down -4.50% over last year.

Monthly new crop receipts:   
The monthly new crop received per ABC form 1 reporting

- **February:  18,206,358 lbs **down -88.84% over January
- **January:  163,098,138 lbs**

 

### 📊 TMS, Shipments & Commitments

February's new crop receipts bring the 2023 Total Marketable Supply to 3,161,528,400 lbs, down -4.46% over last year. 

2023/2024 % TMS shipped to date: 50.67% up +6.75% over last month up +4.81% over last year.

2023/2024 % Sold to date: 70.62% up + 6.42% over last month and up +1.06% over last year.

February's shipments: 221,129,561 lbs down -6.27% over last month and down -10.01% over last year.

2023/2024 total shipments to date: 1,601,802,626 lbs up +5.57% over last year.

### 🔮 Future Demand 

Total new sales for February: 214,609,074 lbs down -9.03% over last month and up +12.79% over last year.

 

### 📈 Crop Receipt Projections

Following the December position report we run a forward projection on ABC form 1 crop receipts to get an idea of the total size of the crop. 

The methodology we use for our crop receipt projections is different from our [in-season machine learning forecasts](https://medium.com/@BountifulAg/forget-everything-you-know-about-forecasting-81b28ca05d2d?utm_source=hs_email&utm_medium=email&_hsenc=p2ANqtz--ysKh1A6_W5GpKtM9OylXtLllLCWgEJUXOCKBgvELZ2L-XVT2GjTBY4X4vxMuD6tsRnEOE). Our 2023 in-season forecasts are complete and have not been updated since we released a final forecast in July. 

For our crop receipt projection, we only use ABC form 1 crop receipt data for current and historical years. The model we use looks for a pattern in how crop receipts are coming in month over month.

As of February ABC form 1 crop receipts, final crop receipts are projected to be 2.44-2.46 B lbs. You can reference this in the image below 2023/2024 marketing year is in light blue.
